M/Y Kalizma is a classic Edwardian motor yacht that was commissioned in 1906 and stands testimony to more than a century of human history.

She was crafted to the designs of G.L. Watson & Co. and built by Ramage & Ferguson, Leith in Scotland. She was subsequently requisitioned and served in both the World Wars as an auxiliary patrol boat and an examination service vessel. She returned to private hands soon after and was eventually motorized in 1955.

In the late 1960s, Kalizma arrived in to the global spotlight when the actor Richard Burton gifted her to his wife, Elizabeth Taylor. This legendary actor couple renamed her Kalizma, after their three children. In early 2019, Kalizma found a new lease of life with an extensive technical refit under the expertise of Alessandro Ortenzi, founder of Palazzo Morelli to envision her interiors.

Kalizma has traversed a range of destinations across the Mediterranean Sea, the Gulf, South East Asia and the Indian subcontinent, proudly holding her own among modern fleet around her.

Onboard Experience

There’s a true sense of romance onboard Kalizma, with her history of exploration. Kalizma’s five cabins offer comfortable accommodation for up to ten guests. The master cabin is located on the upper deck, with a large en-suite bathroom and windows on all sides. The lower deck features four further cabins, two doubles and two twins. All cabins offer en-suite bathrooms and air-conditioning.

The interior guest spaces include a bar & salon, dining area and a reading area equipped with a modern galley. Interior facilities include flat smart HD televisions (Plex media, Netflix & Amazon) DVD players, and a bluetooth music system. Outside, the sun deck was been completely redesigned in 2020 with a new sun pad aft, and a table for enjoying alfresco breakfast, or drinks during the day. There is also a shaded alfresco dining space on the aft deck. Onboard equipment include two Ribeye tenders with Yamaha OBMs, 2 Yamaha jet-skis, water sports & diving equipment. Ease and access includes a passarelle retractable bathing ladder gangway to both port and starboard as well as cranes.

Action sports, and spending quality family time together at meals are the recipe for memories that will last a life time. Guests can learn new skills under the guidance of crew that are patient and highly capable instructors in many kinds of water based sports and activities.
